Golden Knights Sign Defenseman To Extension
The Vegas Golden Knights have signed Ben Hutton to a two-year contract extension. He will have an average annual value of $850,000.
Hutton was signed by Vegas during the beginning portions of the regular season to a one-year, $750,000 contract. It was an eventful offseason for the 28-year-old, as he signed a PTO with the Anaheim Ducks but was released from it without a contract for the regular season. Yet, he not only found a home with Vegas for this season but now also for the next two.
When Hutton was signed, it seemed like it was simply for depth. However, he has since seen a decent chunk of playing time with the Golden Knights. In 35 contests, he has two goals, seven assists, and a plus-3 rating. Overall, he has looked solid in his role, and the Golden Knights have rewarded him because of it.
Although this isn't the biggest of signings, it seems like a good one for the Golden Knights. Hutton works well on the bottom pair and will now continue to with Vegas from here.
