Golden Knights Star Suffers Setback
According to Peter DeBoer, Vegas Golden Knights forward Max Pacioretty has suffered a setback and won't be back for "the near future."
Pacioretty has not played since March 11th's contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was inching closer to returning, but due to this setback, Vegas will be without him for a longer period of time.
Due to the fact that there's no timeline for Pacioretty's return, the team will likely place him back on LTIR. This, in turn, would create much-needed cap space for the Golden Knights. From here, it could open the door for them to activate Alec Martinez.
It's been a hard year for Pacioretty, as he has dealt with significant injury trouble throughout. Yet, when healthy, he's been excellent. In 29 games, he has 15 goals, 14 assists, and a plus-6 rating.
