Jets Acquire Senators Forward
The Winnipeg Jets have acquired Zach Sanford from the Ottawa Senators for a 2022 fifth-round pick.
This is an interesting development, as it seemed that Winnipeg was in a position to potentially be sellers at the deadline. At this point, they are four points behind the Dallas Stars for the second Wild Card spot, so they aren't out of the playoff race entirely.
Sanford, who is a pending UFA, has nine goals and eight assists in 62 games this season. Overall, it hasn't been the best of campaigns for the 27-year-old, but he will now be aiming to turn things around with the Jets from here.
As for the Senators, they are continuing to add draft picks for their rentals. Let's see what happens next from them.
