Jets Place Forward On Waivers
The Winnipeg Jets have placed Austin Poganski on waivers.
This is the second time this season where Poganski has been dealt this fate by the Jets. However, this decision from Winnipeg is likely to come with excellent news for them, as Nikolaj Ehlers is expected to return to the lineup. With the Jets aiming to get back into the playoffs race, this is perfect timing.
Poganski has skated in 16 games with the Jets this season. In them, he failed to record a single point and sports a minus-3 rating. The 6-foot-2 winger stands a good chance of passing through waivers because of this, but with how unpredictable things have been in the NHL this season, perhaps we will see him be claimed.
If Poganski clears, he will rejoin the Manitoba Moose. The Moose are likely hoping for this, as he has been quite effective with them this campaign. In 31 games, he has seven goals, 14 assists, and a plus-3 rating.
Alas, it will be interesting to see what happens with Poganski from here.
