Los Angeles Kings Sign Prospect
The Los Angeles Kings are staying busy, as they have signed Kim Nousiainen to a three-year, entry-level contract. The contract will begin during next season.
The Kings selected Nousiainen with the 119th-overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old defenseman is coming off of a solid year for KalPa Kuopio of Liiga, as he had four goals and 10 assists in 35 contests. Yet, he showed even more offensive promise during the year before. In 54 games during the 2020-21 season, he had nine goals and 18 assists.
Nousiainen is a player who will likely need a bit of time with the Ontario Reign before making the jump to the NHL. Although his contract begins next season, he should also still get some time in the AHL before this year is over. This is because he signed a tryout with the team for this campaign.
Nevertheless, the Kings are continuing to sign more of their prospects. Let's see if others will follow Nousiainen soon.
