Maple Leafs Auston Matthews Suspended 2 Games for Cross-Checking
Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews has been suspended for two games for his crosscheck to the head of Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin.
The play happened late in the Heritage Classic on Sunday afternoon as the Maple Leafs and Sabres were doing battle in Hamilton, ON. Matthews and Dahlin were tangled up in front of the Sabres net and after some back and forth, Matthews ended up getting his stick up into the side of the head of Dahlin.

Both players were penalized on this play.
Yet, everyone else gets a fine for the exact same thing. No consistency at all with this league. It’s an absolute joke. #LeafsForever https://t.co/QYfb0Ffj6n
