NHL Rumors: Avalanche Calling About Blue Jackets Forward
According to David Pagnotta, the Colorado Avalanche are currently linked to Max Domi.
It's becoming rather clear that Colorado is looking to add at least one forward before the trade deadline passes. They have been linked to bigger names like Claude Giroux and J.T. Miller. They even have called the Chicago Blackhawks about the availability of Patrick Kane. Although Domi doesn't possess the same elite skill as those three, he would cost them far less in a hypothetical deadline swap. Therefore, he could be a more realistic option.
Domi could be a sweet addition to Colorado's middle six, too. He is capable of playing both left wing and center, so he would provide them with multiple options if needed. Furthermore, he also would provide them with more secondary scoring - which is something all playoff teams want. In 46 games this season, he has nine goals to go along with 17 helpers. It's been a solid bounce-back season for the 27-year-old.
Even with the Blue Jackets starting to heat up a bit, there is a good chance Domi will still be moved. They are 10 points out of a playoff spot, and he has an expiring contract. It will be intriguing to see if Colorado is the lucky team to acquire him.
