NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Trading Young Forward

According to Frank Seravalli, the Chicago Blackhawks are in the process of trading Brandon Hagel. Seravalli didn't, however, specify where the 23-year-old winger is heading yet.

Hagel's name came up in the rumor mill earlier this season, but one would have been right to be a bit skeptical about it. The young winger has emerged into one of Chicago's best players this season. With that, he has an affordable $1.5 million contract until the completion of the 2023-24 season and will be a restricted free agent once it expires. All of this will make the return for him a large one.

In 55 games this season, Hagel has 21 goals, 16 assists, and a minus-14 rating. Overall, he is blossoming into a top-six winger, but now he will be heading to a different franchise from here.
