NHL Rumors: Blue Jackets And Blackhawks Talking Trade
According to David Pagnotta, the Columbus Blue Jackets are expressing interest in Chicago Blackhawks forward Dylan Strome.
Strome's name has been in the rumor since last offseason, but Chicago still has yet to move him. At the beginning of the season, he was a healthy scratch numerous times, and that only added fuel to the fire. This resulted in Strome having a very slow start to the season. However, he has played very well since being promoted to the top six again.
With all of this, Strome is helping raise his trade value. With general manager Kyle Davidson noting the team is embarking on a full-on rebuild, this could make them more active in trying to move the 25-year-old. It's clear that Columbus is one team that is aiming to bring him in.
Strome now has 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 games this season. Overall, he is producing like a second-line forward again and could be a great addition to the Blue Jackets. Furthermore, with him being a restricted free agent during the offseason, Columbus would still have control over his rights. Therefore, he would be more than a rental, and that's perfect for a team like them.
Nevertheless, let's see if the Blue Jackets successfully acquire Strome before the deadline passes.
