Friedman noted that the Bruins' primary objective this season is to win a Stanley Cup. With this, they of course are aiming to add a player of equal value at a minimum for DeBrusk. However, with the way the current trade market is, it's hard to determine if they will be able to.
In 54 games this season, DeBrusk has 15 goals to go along with 10 helpers. Overall, he has had himself a pretty solid bounce-back season after a disastrous 2020-21 campaign. Yet, even after his promotion to the first line, his agent confirmed that the 25-year-old still wants a trade. However, if Friedman's prediction comes true, he will have to wait until the summer for that.
Nevertheless, this is something to keep an eye on with the deadline only a few days away.
