NHL Rumors: Canucks Considering Trading Young Forward
According to Rick Dhaliwal and Thomas Drance, the Vancouver Canucks are considering the possibility of trading Nils Hoglander.
They also noted that the Canucks have taken calls from other teams about the young forward, so this is a development that is worth keeping an eye on as we get closer to the deadline. However, with Hoglander still being only 21 years old and being under team control for several more years, there's no need for them to rush a move.
After having himself a 27-point campaign in 56 games as a rookie last season, Hoglander has certainly taken a step back since. In 55 games this year, he has nine goals, eight assists, and a minus-6 rating. This certainly isn't the kind of production that the Canucks were hoping for from him this season. Therefore, perhaps this is why speculation about a potential move is starting to go up.
Multiple players from the Canucks have come up in trade talks. However, the majority have been veterans instead of young players like Hoglander. It will be interesting to see if they end up moving him.
