NHL Rumors: Detroit Red Wings "Open for Business"
According to hockey insider Frank Seravalli, the Detroit Red Wings are open for business. The team has been linked to several deals and it appears general manager Steve Yzerman is interested in getting creative before the March 21 trade deadline.
Seravalli says the Detroit Red Wings are "open for business", including with Tyler Bertuzzi.

Tyler Bertuzzi is someone who was recently linked by David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period as a target of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Sounds like Yzerman has been on the phone a ton of late, trying to maximize the return on several of his current players.
Along with Bertuzzi, expect to see trade talks involving forward Sam Gagner, defensemen Marc Staal, Nick Leddy and Troy Stecher, along with netminder Thomas Griess. The Red Wings continue to try and re-tool with young talent as the team is built around Moritz Seider on the back end, Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond up front and Alex Nedeljkovic in the crease.
One surprising move out of Motown could be with the Arizona Coyotes as the desert dogs continue to shop young blueliner Jakob Chychrun. He's signed long term at a very reasonable cap hit and is a player Yzerman would love to be able to pair with Seider for the next decade. We'll see how things shape up between now and next Monday, but don't count the Red Wings out of the blockbuster trades just because they aren't heading to the playoffs. The focus is already next season and beyond for Yzerman and company.
