NHL Rumors: Extension Talks Stagnant Between Predators And Star
While on ESPN 102.5, Nashville Predators general manager Dave Poile stated that there is "nothing new" regarding extension talks between the team and Filip Forsberg.
Forsberg is a pending UFA and somebody who the Predators would understandably want to keep around. However, there also have been rumblings that the team could move him before the deadline passes if an extension is not completed by then. Thus, this update from Poile isn't very promising.
In 43 games this season, Forsberg has 27 goals to go along with 19 assists. It has been a career year for the 27-year-old winger, and it couldn't have come at a better time. He is set to make a significant raise from his current $6 million cap hit. Yet, the real question now is if it will be with the Predators or another franchise.
Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see if things heat up between both parties. Right now, it's clear that talks have gone stagnant.
