NHL Rumors: Hurricanes Eyeing Kraken Defenseman
The Carolina Hurricanes are one of the many teams calling the Seattle Kraken about Mark Giordano, according to David Pagnotta.
This isn't too surprising to hear, as it has been established by general manager Don Waddell that the Hurricanes are aiming to add a defenseman before the deadline. With that, they also have been linked to other players at the position like John Klingberg, Jakob Chychrun, Ben Chiarot, and Hampus Lindholm. Therefore, why wouldn't they be calling about Giordano, too?
The Kraken and Giordano have come to the conclusion that it would be best for both parties to move on. The 38-year-old is in the final year of his contract, and the Kraken are at the bottom of the standings. Furthermore, he understandably wants the chance to compete for a Stanley Cup, as he has yet to win one and he is in the latter stages of his career.
Giordano could be a great addition to their blueline, so they are correct in considering him as one of their options. With all of this, keep an eye on Carolina as we get closer to the deadline. They appear to be big players in the sweepstakes.
