NHL Rumors: Predators And Blackhawks Talking Trade
According to Ben Pope, the Nashville Predators have called the Chicago Blackhawks about Ryan Carpenter.
Although Carpenter is not the flashiest of names, he could be a solid rental for the Predators. He is known for his solid penalty killing and physical style of play. That certainly would make him a nice addition for a team looking to make the playoffs like Nashville.
In 56 games this season, Carpenter has three goals to go along with eight assists. He has seen his offensive numbers spike a bit as of late, however, as he has two goals and two assists over his last eight games. Although he may not continue to produce this frequently from here, he certainly is helping raise his value at the perfect time for Chicago.
Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see if these two Central Division rivals complete a trade before next week's deadline.
