NHL Rumors: Predators Still Trying To Extend Star
According to Darren Dreger, the Nashville Predators are once again having extension talks with Filip Forsberg.
With the trade deadline only a few days away, this is understandable. The Predators would much rather keep their star around than be forced to trade him or lose him for nothing over the summer. It will be intriguing to see if they are successful in their efforts, as the star winger is having himself a monstrous season.
In 48 games on the year, Forsberg has 32 goals, 24 assists, and a plus-13 rating. Due to the fact that this is a contract year, he will be earning himself a major raise on his next deal - whether it's with Nashville or elsewhere.
Alas, the Predators will have to step up their efforts immensely before the deadline gets here. If he is not extended by Monday, they will have a huge decision to make regarding him.
