NHL Rumors: Sabres Open To Keeping Goalie Around
According to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News, the Buffalo Sabres are interested in signing Craig Anderson to an extension. With that, the 40-year-old goaltender is also very open to staying around.
This is a fun development. Anderson wasn't expected to even play this season, as it was originally reported that the veteran goalie had announced his retirement. Yet, shortly after, he surprisingly signed a deal for the season with the rebuilding Sabres. Now, both parties have a mutual interest in continuing their relationship.
In 19 appearances this season with Buffalo, Anderson has a 10-9-0 record, 3.12 GAA, and .903 SV%. Overall, he has had some solid moments, but he also has been a much-needed veteran on their roster.
Nevertheless, don't be surprised to see these two end up finalizing a deal in the near future.
