NHL Rumors: St Louis Blues Linked to Blockbuster Deals
The St Louis Blues currently sit 32-17-7 on the season and are looking to add before the trade deadline. The team has been involved in trade discussions with several teams and it seems like any rumor they've been a part of has been for one of the bigger names on the market. It's become more and more obvious out of St Louis, the Blues are looking for a blockbuster deal.
Friedman goes on to say he has heard some say they're in on Giroux others tell him they are not, so mixed signals there. They also would like to move out money, Friedman mentions perhaps Scandella since he's not playing a lot.

The Blues have been heavily linked to Claude Giroux from the Philadelphia Flyers or Jakob Chychrun of the Arizona Coyotes and have made it known to other teams they are willing to move draft picks and top prospects to acquire an impact player before March 21.
And despite all the blockbuster rumors the one thing to note here is the Blues don't have a ton of cap space. According to CapFriendly.com, St Louis currently has only $113,333 in wiggle room under the salary cap so any deal will have to be a money in/money out type of move.
One name to watch here could be goaltender Jordan Binnington and his $6 million salary. His no-trade protection only protects him from 18 teams this season and with the emergence of Ville Husso perhaps Binnington is included in talks. Something's got to give in St Louis because they are looking at some big names and only have a little bit of money to work with at the moment.
