Kulak is one of the many names from the Canadiens who have been in the rumor mill for months. The 28-year-old defenseman is a pending UFA, and with Montreal completely out of the playoff picture, it is understandable that they have moved him.
The Oilers needed some depth on their blueline, and Kulak will provide them with just that. In 56 games this campaign, he has three goals to go along with 10 helpers. Thus, he not only will bring them decent offense from the point but also should give them more stability in the process.
Kulak is an Edmonton native, so this is likely a big deal for him. Now, he should become a part of their bottom pair as they try to cement themselves a playoff spot this spring.
