Penguins Sign Forward To Extension
The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Drew O'Connor to a one-year, $750,000 contract extension.
O'Connor has become a solid depth forward for the Penguins this season. In 22 games with the NHL club, the 23-year-old has three goals and two assists. Overall, he has been able to be productive when called upon, and that's why he has now landed himself an extension with the team.
With the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this campaign, he has been excellent. In 14 games, he has seven goals to go along with eight helpers. This also is coming after the 19-point campaign he had in 20 contests with the team last season, too.
It will be interesting to see how O'Connor develops from here. Overall, he has been a solid addition to the Penguins and should continue to improve with more experience.
