Predators Sign Forward To Entry-Level Contract
The Nashville Predators have signed Navrin Mutter to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Mutter is a 6-foot-4 winger currently playing for the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL. In 44 games split between the Hamilton Bulldogs and Rangers this season, he has nine goals, eight assists, and 88 penalty minutes. As one could guess by the final stat listed, he is a very active participant in the physical side of the game.
Mutter went undrafted, but now, he has found himself a home with the Predators organization. It seems that his gritty style of play could eventually lead him to become a bottom-six forward in the NHL. Yet, he will likely need some time to develop at the AHL level with the Milwaukee Admirals first.
Interestingly, Mutter does have some professional hockey experience, too. During last season, he suited up in three games for the Stockton Heat. During them, he was held off the scoresheet and had two penalty minutes.
