Red Wings And Kings Strike A Deal
The Los Angeles Kings have acquired Troy Stecher from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a 2022 seventh-round pick.
Stecher will provide the Kings with a bit more depth on their blueline. In 16 games this season, the 27-year-old has one goal, one assist, and a minus-6 rating. He missed a major portion of the season due to injury, but he has played in seven games during the month of March alone.
During his first handful of seasons in the NHL, Stecher showed that he can produce fairly well from the point at times. In 346 career games between the Vancouver Canucks and Red Wings, he has 15 goals, 73 assists, and 88 points. He also has two 20-plus-point campaigns under his belt, too.
Nevertheless, this is a good little depth move for the Kings. Expect to see more from here.
