Sabres Place Forward On Waivers
The Buffalo Sabres have placed Mark Jankowski on waivers.
Jankowski began this season on an AHL contract with the Sabres' affiliate, the Rochester Americans. After recording 12 points in the team's first 13 games, Buffalo then signed him to a one-year, $750,000 contract to join their NHL team.
Since then, Jankowski has played in 19 games with the Sabres. In them, he has two goals, three assists, and a plus-2 rating. His spot on their depth chart fell rapidly, however, as he has not appeared in a game since February 23rd's contest against the Montreal Canadiens.
There could be a team out there who claims Jankowski, as he has a decent chunk of NHL experience and has a very cheap cap hit. With that, he is also capable of playing both center and right wing, so he could be a solid depth forward elsewhere. Nevertheless, let's wait and see if he finds a new home shortly. If not, he will be back with Rochester.
