Stars And Red Wings Complete Trade
The Dallas Stars have acquired Vladislav Namestnikov from the Detroit Red Wings for a fourth-round pick.
The Stars are getting a very solid secondary scorer in Namestnikov and gave up very little in the process. With the team trying to cement themselves a playoff spot in the Western Conference, they added to their roster but also are not risking much at that price.
In 60 games this season, Namestnikov has 13 goals, 12 assists, and a plus-1 rating. It's quietly been a very good season for the 29-year-old, and he will now be aiming to help Dallas get back into the postseason. He certainly will come in handy for them, too, as he can play all three forward positions if needed. That kind of versatility will be welcomed with open arms.
Nevertheless, this is a nice low-risk, high-reward kind of swap for Dallas.
