Miroshnichenko has been informed that his illness is curable, but that obviously doesn't take away from the severity of this unfortunate development.
Miroshnichenko has been viewed as one of the top prospects of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Multiple mock drafts had him being selected within the top-10, but due to this news, it seems rather likely that his ranking will drop.
Miroshnichenko played this season with Omskie Krylia of the VHL. In 31 games with the team, he had 10 goals to go along with six assists. Overall, the 18-year-old was certainly grabbing the attention of NHL teams with his play. He's made it clear that he has a lot of potential but especially with his goal-scoring ability.
All hockey fans certainly want to see Miroshnichenko have the chance to play in the NHL, as he is viewed as having a very high ceiling. However, his health is most important, so we would like to send our best wishes to him.
