2 Hurricanes Who Bounced Back During 2021-22 Season
The 2021-22 season is in its final stages, and it's fair to say that it's been an incredibly entertaining year. One reason for this is that we have seen plenty of players bounce back from rough 2020-21 campaigns. Thus, it feels like the perfect time to shine a light on two players from each NHL team who have done just that. To make this more fun, we will be choosing teams randomly based on a wheel.
In this piece, we will be looking at two players from the Carolina Hurricanes.
Frederik Andersen: After sporting a career-worst .895 SV% with the Maple Leafs last season, Frederik Andersen has bounced back immensely in Carolina. In 52 games, he has a 35-14-3 record, 2.17 GAA, and .922 SV%. He has been one of the top goaltenders in the league all season. Yet, he, unfortunately, is sidelined indefinitely, so this may be where his regular-season stats end this campaign.
Tony DeAngelo: After all of the controversy that happened with Tony DeAngelo on the New York Rangers last season, there was understandably some concern when he signed with the Hurricanes. Yet, all doubts have evaporated since, as he has been a perfect replacement for Dougie Hamilton. In 59 games this season, he has 10 goals, 38 assists, and a plus-27 rating. With these numbers, he is due for a major raise this summer.
