2 Sabres Who Bounced Back During 2021-22 Season

The 2021-22 season is in its final stages, and it's fair to say that it's been an incredibly entertaining year. One reason for this is that we have seen plenty of players bounce back from rough 2020-21 campaigns. Thus, it feels like the perfect time to shine a light on two players from each NHL team who have done just that. To make this more fun, we will be choosing teams randomly based on a wheel.

In this piece, we will be focusing on the Buffalo Sabres.

Jeff Skinner: After scoring just seven goals and recording 14 points in 53 games last season, most hockey fans said Jeff Skinner was washed up. Yet, he has proved his critics wrong immensely this campaign, as he has 31 goals and 58 points in 76 games. Although his $9 million cap hit is still far too expensive, he has proven that he can still be an effective sniper at the NHL level.

Kyle Okposo: For the first time since the 2017-18 season, Kyle Okposo has reached 40 points. In 72 games on the year, he now has 20 goals and 23 assists. This is excellent to see from the veteran winger, as he has had a lot of injury trouble over the years. Furthermore, he is starting to once again look like a player who can produce well at the NHL level.
