Arizona Coyotes Sign Prospect
The Arizona Coyotes have signed Nathan Smith to a two-year, entry-level contract. It will begin during this season.
The Coyotes acquired Smith from the Winnipeg Jets on deadline day for taking on Bryan Little's contract. This certainly has the potential to be a good move for Arizona, as Smith has the potential to make an immediate impact on the team.
Smith just completed his third season at Minnesota State University, and it's fair to say it was his best one. In 38 games, he had 19 goals to go along with a very impressive 50 points. With numbers like these, there's reason to believe that the 23-year-old could blossom into a solid point producer at the NHL level.
Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see how Smith performs from here. He should get into game action very shortly, so he's definitely a player to watch.
