Buffalo Sabres Sign Prospect

The Buffalo Sabres have signed Josh Bloom to a three-year, entry-level contract. It will begin during the 2022-23 season.

Bloom was selected by Buffalo with the 95th-overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, so he is very much just beginning his professional development. After recording a 14-point campaign in 54 games with the Saginaw Spirit last season, the 18-year-old winger exploded this campaign, as he had 30 goals and 31 assists in 67 games. With this spike in production, it isn't surprising to see that the Sabres wanted to sign him to his ELC early.

Bloom will likely need to spend at least one more year in juniors before getting his eventual call-up to the Sabres. Yet, even with this being so, fans should be excited to see how much he has improved in just one year. Perhaps he will do the same next year, too.
