Canucks Captain Done For The Season
At this juncture of the campaign, the Vancouver Canucks are pushing for a playoff spot. They trail the Dallas Stars by five points for the Wild Card spot, so they need to do a lot of winning from here before the season is done. However, they have been dealt brutal injury news, as Bo Horvat has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a lower-body injury.
Horvat has once again been one of Vancouver's top forwards this campaign, so losing him at this crucial point of the year is just horrible for them. In 70 games on the season, the 27-year-old captain had a career-high 31 goals, 21 assists, and a plus-3 rating. It turned out to be a very memorable year for him, but sadly, it is now coming to a close early.
It will be intriguing to see how the Canucks respond without having Horvat in the lineup. Perhaps we could see a Cinderella story occur from them at the end, but this massive blow makes that feel even less likely now.
