Colorado Avalanche Sign Defenseman
The Colorado Avalanche have signed Wyatt Aamodt to a one-year, entry-level contract. It will begin during the 2022-23 season.
Aamodt just completed his senior season with Minnesota State University Mankato. In 41 games as the team's captain this campaign, he had six goals and six assists. Although he was not offensively dominant, he was praised for his solid defense-first style of play. This is exactly the kind of defenseman who Colorado should take a shot on.
Although Aamodt's contract does not begin until next season, he will be beginning his professional career immediately. This is because he has signed a tryout contract with the Colorado Eagles for the remainder of the season.
Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see how Aamodt progresses with his development from here.
