Devils Defenseman Finished in New Jersey
Well if you're looking for the source, we call this one direct. New Jersey Devils defenseman PK Subban was as candid as ever after Monday night's game and admitted he knows his time with the Devils is coming to an end.
"It's no secret my time as a devil is coming to an end, but these last few weeks have been incredible. Playing with Ty Smith has been amazing, the kid takes a penalty or lets in a goal every shift, it has really taken the pressure off me"

The veteran defenseman is in the final season of his expensive contract paying him $9 million per season and is playing out the stretch run, loving every minute of it per usual. New Jersey couldn't even get teams to budge at the trade deadline at $4.5 million on the books, so it should be an interesting summer for the soon to be 33-year-old Subban.
So far in 73 games in 2021-22, the Toronto native has managed to score five times and collect 22 points. Certainly not his best season when it comes to production as he's several seasons removed from his career-high 60-point season with the Montreal Canadiens.
As for this summer, look for a number of teams to be interested in signing Subban, it just won't be anything close to what he's making now. It's likely his next deal is in the $3 million range and look for the likes of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Canadiens, among others to have contract discussions come July. For now, Subban is riding it out with his teammates and enjoying every moment in the mix.
