Ducks Sign Forward To Extension
The Anaheim Ducks have signed Sam Carrick to a two-year contract extension. He will have an $850,000 cap hit starting next season.
Carrick just suffered a season-ending injury, but with this development, the veteran forward has to be feeling happy. The 30-year-old has earned this extension, as he put together a career year with the Ducks. In 64 games, he scored 11 goals and added eight assists. With that, he also brought a nice level of grit to Anaheim, as his 85 penalty minutes show perfectly.
With how well Carrick contributed this season, he stands a good shot of being a part of Anaheim's bottom-six next year. At a minimum, he will continue to be a solid depth forward for them. In 111 career games between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ducks, Carrick has 14 goals, 14 assists, and 115 PIMs.
