Flyers Kevin Hayes Blasts Management Over Scratching Keith Yandle
When the Philadelphia Flyers decided to healthy scratch veteran defenseman Keith Yandle on Saturday, everyone knew there was going to be some displeasure. The NHL's iron man was only 11 games away from 1000 consecutive games and considering the Flyers are playing for absolutely nothing right now, what's really the point? Well, needless to say the move didn't go over very well in the Flyers dressing room and forward Kevin Hayes was one of the many to be pissed off.
Hayes met with the media and had a lot to say on the situation as Yandle is his best friend on and off the ice:
We put ourselves in this situation. Decisions have to be made. Players don't make those decisions. It's truly on us he had to sit out. Can't say I agree with it. What he provides to guys on this team is something no one else can do. They made a decision, and we have to roll with it

This is the type of things players remember. They notice, and when it comes to making a decision in free agency or approving a trade, situations like this get talked about. Players want to know management has their back and in this situation the Flyers executives let down Yandle, Hayes and many others. Be better, Philly.
