Golden Knights Sign Prospect
The Vegas Golden Knights have Ivan Morozov to a two-year, entry-level contract. It will begin during next season.
Morozov is viewed as one of Vegas' top prospects, so it is nice to see that they have locked him up with this ELC. The 2018 second-round pick is starting to develop into more of an offensive threat, and his 2021-22 season in the KHL has shown that well. In 22 games between SKA St. Petersburg and HK Sochi, he has five goals and six assists. With that, he also had 19 points in 15 games in the VHL this year.
The Golden Knights have significant salary cap issues, so it would be good for them if Morozov becomes ready for NHL competition soon. It will be intriguing to see if he's able to make the NHL squad as soon as next season. However, even if he doesn't right away, he should have a bright future with the club.
