Jonathan Toews Expecting More From Blackhawks Coach & GM

Captain Serious has spoken. Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews has been an open book this season and the story continues. Recently the veteran forward admitted he wants to sit down with general manager Kyle Davidson and the coaching staff to get a sense of what the expectations are for himself on the hockey team.

Toews who has voiced his displeasure over the team's direction met with up Phillip Thompson of Chicago Tribune and had this to say:

I just think sometimes it helps me to hear their honesty. I just think it helps to have that line of communication, to know what they expect out of me and I know what they need and I know what my job is as a player, as a captain in the locker room. It'd be good to know exactly what's going on in some detail to a certain extent. Then I can control what I can control and just go about my job. Across the board, the last few outings have been pretty embarrassing, I would say. Regardless of the score, regardless of whether it was a win or loss, the effort just wasn't there. There's no connection in our team game and not valuing what we have.

After being one of the busiest teams last offseason with bold trades for both Marc-Andre Fleury and Seth Jones the Blackhawks never got off the ground and have been a disappointment throughout the season including a current eight game losing streak. Needless to say there's trouble in paradise in the windy city and there's a very good chance both Patrick Kane and Toews meet with management this summer and provide them with a few options for trade. Keep it locked here as we'll have up to the minute updates on it all.
