Kings Given Brutal Injury News
Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty is done for the season after having wrist surgery.
This development is atrocious timing for the Kings, as they are currently pushing for a playoff spot. At this juncture, they are third in the Pacific Division. Yet, the Vegas Golden Knights are only two points behind them with a game in hand. Furthermore, the Kings also have the same number of points as the Dallas Stars - who are the second Wild Card team.
It's a shame that Doughty's season has ended early because it was a fantastic one for the 32-year-old. In 39 games, he had seven goals to go along with 24 assists. This was the best production we have seen from him in quite some time, but sadly this injury has taken it away from him.
Doughty is expected to be ready for the start of the 2022-23 season. We will have to wait and see if Los Angeles can make the playoffs for the first time since 2018 without him.
