Kraken Sign Second-Ever Draft Pick

The Seattle Kraken have signed Ryker Evans to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Kraken selected Evans with the 35th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. This is a selection that they have to be feeling pretty confident about, as the 20-year-old defenseman is having an excellent season with the Regina Pats. In 63 games, he has 14 goals to go along with 47 assists. This kind of offensive production from the point shouldn't be overlooked.

Evans is also known for playing an immensely heavy game, too. This season he has taken that to a whole new level, however, as he has a whopping 96 penalty minutes. It's always a good thing having a little bit of bite on the blueline, and Evans will provide Seattle with just that once he's ready for the NHL.
