Marian Hossa To Sign One-Day Deal With Blackhawks

Hockey Hall of Famer Marian Hossa will be signing a one-day contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. This will allow him the opportunity to officially retire as a member of the organization.

Before the start of the 2017-18 season, Hossa's career was unfortunately cut short, as the superstar winger was diagnosed with a skin disorder. This, in turn, made it impossible for him to return. During the 2018 offseason, Chicago then flipped his contract to the Arizona Coyotes. Although financially it made sense for the Blackhawks to do, it did take away his chance of retiring with the team. Yet, that now can change with this awesome gesture.

Hossa's time with Chicago was excellent. In 467 games with the team, he had 186 goals, 229 points, and 415 points. With that, he also was a key contributor to their three Stanley Cup-winning teams, as he had 72 points in 107 postseason games with the team.

Nevertheless, it will be great to see Hossa retire as a Blackhawk.
