Montreal Canadiens Sign Prospect
The Montreal Canadiens have signed Lucas Condotta to a one-year, entry-level contract. It will begin during the 2022-23 campaign.
Condotta will be beginning his professional career this season, however, as he has signed a tryout contract with the team's AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
This is big news for Condotta personally, as he went undrafted. He now will have the opportunity to have a professional career with the Canadiens organization. Yet, this is just the beginning for the 24-year-old forward, as he will be aiming to eventually land himself a spot on their NHL team.
Condotta just completed his senior season with UMass-Lowell and served as their captain. He thrived in the responsibility that comes with the role, as he had 10 goals and 13 assists in 33 games. With these numbers, he set new career-highs with both of them.
Overall, it will be interesting to see if Condotta will eventually become an NHLer with the Canadiens. There's nothing wrong with the franchise taking a chance on him.
