Nashville Predators Sign Prospect
The Nashville Predators have signed Spencer Stastney to a two-year, entry-level contract. It will start during the 2021-22 season.
The Predators selected Stastney with the 131st-overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old has since played out his entire four-year collegiate career with Notre Dame. He just put together his best campaign with the team this year, however, as he set career-highs in goals (7) and assists (20) in 39 games played.
Stastney's progression this season should make Predators fans happy that he ended up signing his ELC there. Due to the fact that he completed his entire collegiate career, he could have tested the market as an unrestricted free agent this summer. Yet, with this signing, that of course will not come to fruition.
It will be intriguing to see if Stastney is able to take that next jump to the NHL in the near future.
