NHL Rumors: Rangers Expected To Sign Top College Free Agent

UMass-Amherst's Bobby Trivigno has been getting a lot of attention from the NHL, and it appears that he has chosen his destination. According to The Athletic's Corey Pronman, Trivigno is expected to sign with the New York Rangers.

Trivigno, who is a native New Yorker, would provide the Rangers with another strong prospect on the wing. The 23-year-old left-winger is coming off of a fantastic campaign with UMass-Amherst, as he had 20 goals and 29 assists in 37 contests. With numbers like these, it's clear that he has the potential to be an offensive force. The real question will now be if he's able to translate that over to professional hockey.

Trivigno is one of the top undrafted college free agents out there, so this would be a nice win for the Rangers. Time will tell if he's able to develop into a full-time NHLer, but when looking at how well his senior season with the school went, it's fair to state that he has a good shot to.

We will now have to wait patiently for the official announcement of his entry-level deal.
