Red Wings Captain Done For Season
Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has had core muscle surgery and will be out for the rest of the season because of it.
With the Red Wings officially being knocked out of playoff contention, there's no harm in Larkin electing to receive this surgery now. It is better for him to get ready for the 2022-23 season rather than worsening his current injury during this campaign.
After a disappointing 23-point campaign in 44 games last season, Larkin once again found his mojo as a true top-line center. In 71 games this season, the 25-year-old had 31 goals to go along with 38 assists. It was fantastic to see the captain find his previous scoring touch. However, his campaign is now officially over, and he will now be focusing on his recovery from here.
