San Jose Sharks Sign Goalie
The San Jose Sharks have signed Strauss Mann to a one-year contract.
After completing an excellent collegiate career with the University of Michigan, Mann began his professional career overseas with Skelleftea AIK of the SHL this season. The 23-year-old played very well there, too, as he had a 13-9-0 record, .914 save percentage, and 2.19 goals-against average in 22 games played. Thus, Sharks fans should feel some excitement that they have landed the Greenwich-native.
Mann also represented Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, so that also heightens the value of his resume. Scouts envision him as being a potential number-two goaltender at this point in his development. Yet, as he begins to get NHL experience, there's certainly reason to believe that he could blossom into a starting goalie. Alas, time will tell on that front.
