Sharks Forward Could Miss Rest Of Season
According to Curtis Pashelka of The Mercury News, the San Jose Sharks are considering the possibility of shutting down Kevin Labanc for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
Labanc has not played since December 11th's contest against the Dallas Stars due to a shoulder injury. With the Sharks out of the playoff race and only having 14 games remaining, it may be best for them to play it safe with the 26-year-old winger.
Yet, if this ends up being the end of Labanc's season, it's fair to say that it was an underwhelming one. In 21 games this year, he has three goals, three assists, and a minus-4 rating. When remembering that he had a 56-point campaign in 82 games during the 2018-19 season, this pace of production is definitely disappointing.
Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see what the Sharks decide to do with Labanc. If he does miss the rest of the year, here's to hoping he is healthy and rebounds during the 2022-23 season.
