Video: Avs' MacDermid Kicked Out for Ugly Knee on Foligno
The Minnesota Wild are pissed off and rightfully so after Colorado Avalanche enforcer Kurtis MacDermid caught Wild forward Marcus Foligno with a knee on knee that was as ugly as they come.
MacDermid was kicked out of the game for his actions after landing a five-minute major for kneeing and a game misconduct in the final game of the regular season. Foligno had to be helped off the ice and now his status for game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs is up in the air. Wild head coach Dean Evason was not shy with his comments after the game and had this to say on the matter:
What a terrible hit. What a terrible, terrible hit. ... Obviously, (Foligno) doesn't come back to play, so it's serious enough that one of the toughest guys I've ever seen can't come back and play. It's an awful thing to happen. Especially this time (of year), forget about any time. What's the point of it? What's the point?"
