Video: Bruins' Erik Haula Scores Bizarre Penalty Shot Goal
During Sunday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins forward Erik Haula was surprisingly awarded a penalty shot on a play that didn't actually warrant one. During the play, the 31-year-old accidentally overskated the puck but didn't touch it, so he was still able to secure it. From there, he would score with a nice wrist shot.
This was such a peculiar set of circumstances but, in the end, Haula ended up scoring. This would be his first of two goals on the night for the veteran center. Overall, he has become the team's best signing from the 2021 offseason and is finding a way to work well as their second-line center.
With his two goals on the night, Haula now has 17 to go along with a solid 26 assists. Overall, it's been a very good season for him, and the Bruins have to be ecstatic with his production.
The B's would defeat the Habs by a 5-3 final score. With this, they have improved to 49-25-5, while Montreal is now 20-49-11.
