Video: Matthew Tkachuk Hits 40 Goals And 100 Points

Matthew Tkachuk's amazing 2021-22 season has just gotten even better. During Thursday's game against the Dallas Stars, the 24-year-old winger scored his 40th goal of the season. It also just so happened to be his 100th point of the year, too.

Throughout his career, Tkachuk has had some very good seasons but none like this one. Before it, his best campaign occurred in 2018-19, when he had 77 points in 80 games. With that, he is also coming off of a 43-point season in 56 games last year. Thus, this kind of offensive explosion wasn't necessarily predicted.

Luckily for Tkachuk, he has an expiring contract and is now due a massive raise from his current $7 million cap hit. Now that he has hit two major accomplishments, that should help his case, even more, when it comes to negotiations.
