Winnipeg Jets Sign Prospect
The Winnipeg Jets have signed Wyatt Bongiovanni to a two-year, entry-level contract. It will begin during the 2022-23 season.
Bongiovanni just completed his senior season with Quinnipiac University. It was a very good campaign for the 22-year-old center, as he had 16 goals and 18 helpers in 42 contests. With that, he also was the school's captain this season, so he's a player who is used to having a larger role, too.
Bongiovanni will likely need to spend some time with the Manitoba Moose before making the jump to the NHL. He will be getting his first taste of AHL action this season, however, as he has signed a tryout contract with the Moose for the rest of the year. Fans will have to keep an eye on how he performs with the club from here.
Alas, this is a solid little move for the Jets. It's always a good thing for a team to add to their prospect pool, and signing Bongiovanni provides just that.
