Ducks Sign Goalie Prospect
The Anaheim Ducks have signed Calle Clang to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Clang was one of the many pieces that the Ducks acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Rickard Rakell trade. Clang is coming off of a solid season with Rogle BK Angelholm of the Swedish Hockey League, as he had a 10-5-0 record, 2.28 GAA, and .914 SV%. He is expected to return to the squad for the 2022-23 season to continue to build on his craft.
If Clang can continue to perform this well overseas, it seems probable that he eventually will become an NHL-caliber goaltender. However, the team has goaltenders like John Gibson, Anthony Stolarz, and Lukas Dostal, so we may have to wait a bit before we see Clang in the sport's most competitive league.
